FAQs & Important Information

Please Read Before Booking!

What do I need to set up?

We need enough space for our performer and your guests to comfortably interact and complete their activities. 

Depending on your package, we may need to use a table and chairs to complete certain activities. (Face-painting, crafts. makeovers, etc.)

Can I have my party outside?

Yes! You can have your party outside if weather permits. However, appropriate shade/cover must be provided if there is any chance of rain or in any weather over 85 degrees. all parties outside must also be free of any puddles.

Can I have more guests than originally estimated?

Please let us know if there is any change in the number of participating guests attending your party. We may not be able to provide all services for any unaccounted for guests.

What is the Non-Refundable Down-Payment?

The Non-Refundable down-payment is used to secure your booking, and to cover the cost of materials and performers. The Non-Refundable down-payment is 50% of your total booking/reservation price. 

What if I have to reschedule/cancel?

Any Changes to the date of your booking must be made at least two weeks( 14 days) BEFORE your scheduled booking. If your party/event is cancelled and you notify us two weeks prior- your 50% non-refundable deposit will be put towards any future booking up to a year after your original event date. Failure to notify us of a cancellation will result in the loss of your deposit/down-payment. 

What kind of event can I hire you for?

We provide entertainment for birthdays, weddings, school events, corporate events, Tea Parties, and even simple surprise visits! Book us for any occasion!

Do you accept Tips?

yes! Our staff loves receiving tips! it lets them know their hard work is showing. Tips are always appreciated but never expected.

What areas do you service?

We currently service the central valley & surrounding areas: Merced, Stanislaus, & San Joaquin counties. This includes, but is not limited to: Delhi, Hilmar Turlock, Denair, Ballico, Keyes, Ceres, Hughson, Modesto, Salida, Riverbank, Ripon, Manteca, Lodi, Oakdale, Livingston, Atwater, Merced, Newman, and Patterson. Please note that some areas are subject to a mileage fee.

What ages are best to hire a character for?

Our parties are best geared towards ages 2-11,however we have many different activities that boys and girls of all ages will surely love!

What if my child is shy?

We recommend that there are other children present if it is your Childs first time meeting a character. In the event that your child is shy or startled by the character, seeing the other children interact with the character may ease your child. If our performer senses that your child is shy or frightened, they will try a more gentle approach. We try our best to make every child comfortable!

How can I keep the magic alive?

We want to make sure that every child truly believes our performers are the real deal. Please refrain from asking personal questions or making comments to our performers while they are in character or while there are any children present (E.g., "What is your day job?", "What is your real name?", "You look just like the real ______!"). We want every child we perform for to think that their favorite character is real and came very far just to celebrate with them!

Arrival Times & Event Duration

All times are an "ETA"(Estimated Time of Arrival) and are not exact. Our staff always aims to arrive before each parties ETA. However, there are some things we cannot account for, such as: traffic, accidents, unsafe driving conditions, and emergencies. In the rare case our staff is late to the start time of your event, you will be notified immediately and still receive the full amount of time you booked.

The duration of your event will be listed in the package information, as well as made aware by our staff. If we complete the full duration of your event and you would still like to add on extra time, you may ask our staff if they are able to do so. Our staff is not obligated to stay past their contracted time for any reason.  We ask that you please plan accordingly to ensure all of your guests are already accounted for before our staff arrives.

If all booked activities have been completed, and you indicate to your performer(s) that they may leave earlier than scheduled, you are not eligible to a refund/credit for any remaining or extra time.

If for any reason we cannot attend/cancel your booking, you will receive a full refund.

Saftey

Magic Moments California and our staff are NOT responsible for the safety of your guests. Please keep an eye on your children at all times. As much as we love providing joy to your little ones, we are entertainers, not child caretakers.

Please provide a safe environment for both our staff and your guests. The performing area should be free from any tripping hazards or dangerous objects.

If there is a dangerous or unsafe situation (E.g., Intoxicated guests, an altercation) our staff is free to leave and you will not receive a refund.

Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. Harassment of any of our team will result in an immediate cancelation and you will not receive a refund.

Space 

All parties must provide the appropriate amount of space for our performers and staff. Many of our packages involve activities that require our performers and your guests to get up and move, so a spacious area is necessary.

Many of our costumes require more walk room. Our performers must have enough space to comfortably walk and move around.

Location & Party Area

The location of your party must be appropriate for your selected package. We ask that we are able to set up on dry land. If you are having a pool party all guests must be dry when interacting with our characters , and we ask that we have plenty of space away from the pool (Except for our swimming mermaid characters) . Many of our costumes and wigs cannot get wet, and our materials ,such as our speaker, must be away from water. 

Special Requests

We always try  to take each request we receive. If you or a guest have a special request, please inform us! 

Basket Deliveries

Our Character/Basket deliveries are not apart of our normal packages. Our deliveries last from about 5-15 minutes, however that is an estimate and our staff is not obligated to stay.

The delivery time for your character/basket deliveries is a "preferred time." Due to the nature of these bookings we cannot guarantee when your delivery will be made, so the time is subject to change. You are given a window of time when your delivery will be completed. If you are not home at the time of your delivery, your basket will be left near your doorstep and you will not receive a refund.

Refunds will only be given for Character/basket deliveries if the delivery is not completed.

Package Activities 

Our packages have many different activities that are advertised, however activities may change to better suit your party. Party package activities are used as an outline and no  activity is guaranteed. Activities may need to be swapped or removed due to time constraints, space restrictions, exceeded number of approved participating guests, etc. 

RELEASE/NOTICE OF FILMING AND PHOTOGRAPHY

Our events and appearances are often filmed and photographed. By entering any event or program of Magic Moments California, you are entering an area where photography, audio and video recording may occur. Photos and videos are often uploaded to social media for marketing purposes.
